Katherine Lee Bates Childhood Home Is For Sale

The same real estate company that sold the 1812 Nimrod is selling the Katherine Lee Bates childhood home in Falmouth Massachusetts.  The Nimrod is scheduled to be demolished.  At least the newer part will be destroyed by the wrecking ball.  Now the developer says he'll save the 1812 part.
Bates is the author of America the Beautiful.  Her childhood home is in the  historical section of Falmouth so hopefully it will be saved.  But the Victorian nearby is being converted to condominiums.  So America the Beautiful may be minus another historical home.
America the Beautiful is ruled by the almighty dollar.  That's why 130  gigantic wind turbines are proposed for Nantucket Sound.  Falmouth was full of large homes and inns with wrap around porches until the wrecking ball of modernization and housing developments in the 1960's and 1970's.    The few that are left are threatened today.
Its all like an Agatha Christie play.  "Then There Were None."
