SHE STARTED WRITING POEMS FULL TIME AT 89

Now she is 99.  It's her birthday party poetry reading at the WEST FALMOUTH LIBRARY this Sunday.  ADELAIDE CUMMINGS is her name.  The poet laureates of several towns on Martha's Vineyard came over on the ferry to celebrate.  She still drives.  Adelaide asked for a second helping of cake.  She deserved it.  At 99 Adelaide read five or six rhyming poems to the CALLIOPE POETRY GROUP including a funny one that she forgot and read twice.  Everyone enjoyed the party and the other 20 to 30 poems we heard.  It was Adelaide Cummings' Day.
